Record on your iPhone in one tap, even with poor internet. DEXTR transcribes every note, keeps the audio, and turns what you said into useful prompt and design briefs.
Speak on your iPhone. It is saved there first, sent when there is signal, and waiting in My recordings on your computer, transcribed. Add it to a Stream and Copy all text when you are ready to write.
Three steps, once. After that a voice note is a tap away.
In DEXTR, open Account settings and copy your Shortcut token. Shortcuts asks for it once, when you add the Shortcut.
Open the same page on your iPhone, tap Get the Shortcut, then Add Shortcut and paste the token. Put it on your Home Screen or the Action button.
Tap the Shortcut, say what is on your mind, and tap Stop. It sends the recording to DEXTR, and it lands in My recordings.
No iPhone to hand? Record in the browser on any device from Create → Record voice; if the connection drops, the recording stays on the device so you can send it when you are back online.
Recording and saving happen on your phone, so a tunnel, a field or a flight never costs you a thought. A copy is kept in iCloud Drive › Shortcuts › DEXTR before it is sent; if the send fails, upload that file from Record when you are connected again.
Every note is transcribed as soon as it arrives, with the words timed to the audio, so you can read it back, search it and copy from it.
The original recording is saved beside its transcript, in My recordings and the Audio library, to listen to, download or use in a video.
Group notes that belong together into a Stream (a project, a client, a book) and read them as one, with a summary. Copy all text takes the words of every note in the stream, in order, ready to paste anywhere.
